...And Then I Helped (2010)

…And Then I Helped is an American psychedelic horror movie directed by Michael Todd Schneider (AKA: Michael magGot) and co-written by Nikki McIntyre, Michael Todd Schneider and Max Almeida. The movie is about the quite fucked up relationship between Mr.Ben and Sydney. Ben buries himself in books and study, while Sydney likes to go out and party hard with drugs and alcohol. I asked Michael himself what was his inspiration for the movie, and how they came up with the story, here is his answer: It was a true collaboration in the writing. Not a film I would've set out to make myself. In that, while sitting around a table... Nikki McIntyre, Max Almeida and myself kept one upping one another. We kept talking ourselves into doing things, we would've otherwise not thought possible. We weren't setting out to make a film like anything specific. It was more like we were trying to create a lost 70's film. With everything we would love to see in it. As for me as a director, it was no different. I wanted to best showcase everyone involved and we collectively pushed one another. So it was a culmination of extremely unique and eclectic talent. A rare and genuine chemistry...

I liked this movie allot, it really brings back the psychedelic feeling of 70s horror movies, it kind of reminded me of the movie «Snuff» from 1976. The effects of the movie makes it really psychedelic, and the whole movie is like a LSD trip. The movie is also kind of cheesy, but cheesy in a good way. If you are a fan of the old time 70s horror movies, you should definitely check this movie out!
