TalhotBlond is an American drama/crime/thriller movie directed by Cortney Cox, and based on true events and a 2009 documentary by Barbara Schroeder, and by the same name.
Thomas Montgomery (Garret Dillahunt) is a middle aged married man, and father of two young daughters. Thomas and his friends meets up once a month to play poker, and when he tells his friends that he wished they could meet and play more often, they introduce him to internet poker. Thomas has not been very much on the internet before, but he gives it a shot. Thomas quickly gets into it, but suddenly he gets a unexpected message from a unknown user who calls herself "TalhotBlond". Thomas quickly lets himself get seduced, and his life will soon get turned on its head.
I really like internet themed horror movies, and movies about internet creeps, deep-web, red rooms, and so on. This movie was not really a horror movie, but more of a drama/thriller. What I found interesting was that it is based on a true story, I have not seen the documentary, but I will probably check it out, I was not very impressed by this movie to tell the truth. Of course it got an interesting plot, and the true story behind the movie is very interesting. But the movie was kind of missing something, I wish that it could be kind of more twisted, and more exciting than it was, but sure it was an ok movie, but it is not a movie that I would watch one more time.
3 out of 10.
