"Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills" is a documentary film directed by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky about the three teenage boys who came to be known as the West Memphis Three, and is the first movie of the Paradise Lost documentary trilogy.
The horrific murder of three Christopher Byers, Michael Moore and Stevie Branch where they were dressed naked, hogtied, and brutally mutilated and murdered, leads to a the arrest of and trials of three teenagers Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelle Jr.
I really liked this documentary, it is really interesting and I was absolutely sucked into the story. I watch the whole trilogy in two days. The murder of the three young boys is really brutal. But the evidence against the so-called West Memphis Three is very questionable. It is very obvious that they are infact innocent. But it is really bizarre how the people of West Memphis are really ganging up to get these teens convicted of the crime, mostly because they are different than what they see as "normal". It is a really moving and powerful documentary series. I can really sympathize with both the parents of the three kids, and the poor teenagers who was innocently charged with the murders. Great first movie to the trilogy. Also Metallica was a great choice to play the soundtrack to the movie. If you are a fan of documentaries such as "Making A Murderer", "O.J. Made in America, and "The Jinx" you should definitely see this three movies!
10 out of 10.
