Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer (1986)

Henry is a psychological horror crime movie, it is directed by John McNaughton, and co-written by John McNaughton and Richard Fire. It is based on the true life serial killers Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Lucas and Toole was two drifters, who was traveling around murdering people mostly around Texas. 3 murders was confirmed, but he confessed to over 3000 more murders. Most of the confessions were found false. Ottis and Henry met at a Jacksonville soup kitchen, and quickly developed a sexual relationship. Ottis later claimed to have accompanied Henry in 108 murders.

The movie follows the random killing spree of Henry Lee Lucas (Michael Rooker) and Ottis Toole (Tom Towles) a prison buddy who Henry is staying with. Ottis' sister Becky (Tracy Arnold) also moves in with them.

Ive always liked this movie from the first time I saw it, although it is not very historically correct. It still makes a great serial killer movie. I love the atmosphere of the movie, and the brutal killings. The soundtrack of the movie is also great, the theme song by Ken Hale, Steven A. Jones & Robert McNaughton. Both Michael Rooker and Tom Towles is doing a great job as Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Great movie!

8 out of 10.

R.I.P. Tom Towles!

Troll (1986)

Troll is a cult/horror/fantasy/comedy movie written by Ed Naha and directed by John Carl Buechler. The movie is shot in Italy and received allot of bad reviews by critics.

The Potter family is moving into a new apartment complex in San Francisco. As the daughter of the family Wendy is playing around, she is attacked by a vicious little creature. The creature is a wizard which along time ago was transformed into a troll. The troll is in search of a magic ring which will turn him back into his human form.

I actually really liked this movie, kind of takes me back to the movies I was watching in my childhood. This is a top class B-movie, they don`t make movies like this anymore. At least not that I know of. I really like the mix of comedy, fantasy and horror. The movie is not really scary at all, but it is marked as a horror movie. Reminds me of running around the woods playing as a kid, and of course the Troll song "Cantos Profanae" is so cool!

If you like B-movies and monster movies from the 80s you will love this!

I give the movie a 5 out of 10.
