Green River Killer (2005)

First of all I have to say that this is a really bad movie. I mean it really sucks, it got bad actors, bad filming and it is basically just dumb. It is made by Ulli Lommel, who has made a series of real life serial killer movies. And they are all fucking crap.

But still I kind of like this movie, it takes me back to my teenage years, when my best friend ordered two movie boxes on the net called "Serial Killer collection DVD box" or something like that, and we would get really drunk and watch this crappy movies. One thing thats also cool with the movie is the real autopsy footage and the real footage from Gary Ridgway's confessions.

Well anyways, Green River Killer is based on the life of real life serial killer Gary Lee Ridgway also called The Green River Killer. Gary Ridgway was born February 18, 1949. He was convicted of 48 murders, but he later confessed to almost twice as much. His killing spree went on during the 1980s and 1990s, most of his victims was prostitutes.

The movie starts out filming the green river with real audio from Gary Ridgway's confessions to the police, and some cool clips from real autopsy footage. And we see Gary lying in the grass played by George Kiseleff. After the Ridgway confession audio. Gary (The actor) is reading up names of victims he has killed.

Then we see Gary going into a bar with some rock music soundtrack which I do not know what is.

Gary is looking around for girls, and quickly finds one her name is Hedy (Jacquelyn Aurora) and brings her back to his place, while doing this we hear Gary's voice explaining how easy it is to take the girls home, and that he tells his son "Daddy has to save their souls".

In Gary's house they meet his son Kevin played by Sebastien Szumilas (The real Gary Ridgway's son is named Matthew) which spends most of his time in the bathroom reading books. He introduces himself to Hedy.

Gary and Hedy goes to the bedroom to have sex, Gary orders Hedy to take a shower waving his gun around. Hedy gets naked and into the shower, and Gary also orders her to take a piss. After all this they have sex, and the background music is some kind of sleazy love song, with some dark ambient tunes here and there. 

They have sex, and Gary gets more and more violent during the sex still having his gun, starting to strangle Hedy. There is some really bad effects and some glimpse of real autopsy footage again. Gary kills her and bring her to his car with a cigarette in her mouth so it will look like she is sleeping.

Then Gary dumps her body in the green river.

Then we see some real footage from the confessions of Gary Ridgway. And Gary (the actor) Sleeping having terrible dreams about himself being cut open on an autopsy table, here we have more glimpse from autopsy films. And Gary's voice talking about his "mentor" Boris (Which is a fictional character)

Then there is two police men talking about the bodies found at the green river, and how some of them are strangled. Then from Gary's work at some kind of storage, with two redneck coworkers seeming really stupid and bad acting. I don't know if they are suppose to see like dumbasses or what, but they sure do. They tell Gary that they heard people talking about Gary being the Green river killer.

Gary is riding his car, and we see flashbacks from his mentor Boris. The scenes with Boris is not shot by Ulli Lommel but by a German director Marian Dori

We also meet Kevin's mother Gena (Georgie Donovan). Gary wants to have sex with her but she is too tired and wants Gary to work more so she can be home and "ready for him"

Gary once again goes to the bar and picks up another prostitute which he has sex with and kills and dumps her in the green river.

The police starts to suspect Gary and starts checking up on him and interrogating him.

           It takes the police 20 years to catch Gary Lee Ridgway

This movie is absolut shit! It is full of wrong information to make the story more intresting, and the actors are really bad.

The effects used in the movie I could do better on windows movie maker, and the soundtrack is sleazy rock music.

The movie is a mix of drama/ crime and soft porn.

The story of Gary Ridgway is an really intresting story, but this movie does not make it intresting at all. Its better to watch a documentary.

I give Green River Killer a 2 out of 10 score, and thats only because the movie is nostalgic to me, and the real autopsy footage, and the real confession tapes of Gary Ridgway
