Halloween (1978)

Halloween in my opinion may be the best slasher horror movie ever made! Its a independent horror movie and its made by the director John Carpenter.
This has been one of my favorite horror movies since I first saw it when I was about 13 years old. Remember renting it on VHS and fast forward to the good scenes.
The masked killer Michael Myers kills his way into horror movie history, as one of the most famous movie killers. And Jamie Lee Curtis the queen of all scream queens as the heroine of this movie. The movie was first suppose to be called The Babysitter Murders, but was later changed to Halloween.

On Halloween night 1963 in Haddonfield Illinois the 6 year old Michael Myers is home alone with his sister Judith Margareth Myers. Judith uses the opportunity to have her boyfriend visit. After her boyfriend leaves the house. Michael Myers puts on a clown mask, takes a kitchen knife, and brutally murders his sister.

As the parents comes home, they find Michael outside the house, holding the bloody kitchen knife.

Fifteen years later on the 30th October 1978, Michael's psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) and a nurse is traveling to the high security mental hospital for the criminally insane Smith's Grove Sanitarium. Where Michael has been committed since the murder.

Michael Myers has not said one word the fifteen year he has been in the Sanitarium.

As they approach Smith's Grove, they see that the patients are wandering around free.

When Dr. Loomis goes out to see if everything is in order, the nurse gets attacked by Michael Myers.

He steals the car and escapes.

In Haddonfield we meet the High school student Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and also the young boy Tommy Doyle. Michael starts to stalk Laurie.

Lauries friends Annie Bracket (Nancy Loomis) and Lynda Van Der Klok (P.J. Soles) dismisses Laurie's concerns about being stalked.

Dr. Loomis quickly suspects where Michael is going after seeing that Judith Myers tombstone has been stolen.

Dr. Loomis meets up with Annie's father Sheriff Leigh Brackett to warn him about the horrors of Michael Myers.

They go to the old Myers house, to wait there and see if it is where Michael will show up.

But this is not where Michael Myers will go.

Halloween has become kind of a cult movie, and maybe one of the best slasher horror movies ever made.

Michael Myers is also on of the most famous movie killers, together with Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger.

I find the movie really good, I really like the mystery behind what happened to Michael Myers the night he killed his sister, and what made him turn into a killer. This is a mystery that is left to our own imagination, and I really like that in the movie.

I also like the atmosphere of the movie, and of course the soundtrack the Halloween theme, as I think everyone will immediately recognize after hearing it the first time.

We never see how Michael Myers face look like, except from a very small glimpse of his face when Laurie pulls of his mask.

The mystery surrounding the killer really makes the movie great.

There is allot of sequels to this movie, and also a remake by Rob Zombie.

But nothing beats the original 1978 Halloween by John Carpenter.

This movie gets the score 10 out of 10 from me!
