The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)

When I was about 14 or 15 years old, me and some friends used to discuss horror movies at school. Of course we were always looking for the most violent, the most scary or the most bizarre horror movies. My best friend was the one who always had the best movies on VHS or DVD. Once we were talking about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and my friend mentioned that he had seen the sequel, and that it was really good!
Now the sequel was really hard to find in any movie shops, and downloading movies was not so easy at this time.
But on a trip with my family to Denmark. We went to a movie shop. I was like a kid in the biggest candy shop ever. I picked out some movies I really wanted, amongst others Bad Taste and Dead Alive by Peter Jackson, and after looking through allot of movies, I found it!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel. I was so excited, and I could not wait to get home to watch it.
This movie is also written and directed and written by Tobe Hooper.

The Texas Chainsaw massacre 2 is set 13 years after the events of the first movie. It starts with a man telling about the crimes in the first movie. How the four of the young teens was never seen again, but that Sally Hardesty was the only surviver of the gruesome crimes. She was picked up on a roadside screaming about murder, and told that she had "Broken out of a window in Hell" And her mad tale about a cannibal family in an isolated farm house.

The two high School seniors Buzz and Rick are racing along a Texas highway shooting guns and drinking beers. They use their car phone to make joke phone calls to the on-air radio DJ Vanita "Stretch" Brock (Caroline Williams).

Stretch can not get the two assholes to hang up the phone, and are forced to keep the line open.

Buzz and Rick forces a pickup truck off the road while laughing and being dickheads.

This will shown not to be a smart move, cause later they get stopped by the same pickup truck.

They get attacked by Leatherface (Bill Johnson) who emerges from the back of the pickup truck, holding an old corps in front of himself, waving his chainsaw.

Leatherface slashed of the half of Buzz's skull with his chainsaw, they run of the road and are both killed. All this happens while they are still on the line with Stretch's radio show.

The next morning Lieutenant Boude "Lefty" Enright (Dennis Hooper) who is a former Texas ranger and the uncle of Sally and Franklin Hardesty from the first movie, arrives at the crime scene to help solve Rick and Buzz's murder.

Lefty has spent the last 13 years investigating the disappearance of his nephew Franklin, and also a number of chainsaw murders happening around Texas. 

Lefty is contacted by Stretch, which has the sound of the murders of Buzz and Rick recorded on a tape. Stretch offers Lefty to help him get believers and play the tape on the radio. But Lefty says no to the offer.

Stretch and her co-worker L.G. (Lou Perryman) goes to a Chili contest to cover this for the radio show.  Drayton Sawyer (Jim Siedow) is the winner of the chili contest. And when he gets the question of what is the secret too his extremely good chili, he tells her that the secret is too not hold back on the good meat.

Lefty goes to a hardware store to buy himself a chainsaw, to get back at the people who killed his nephew. This is a really funny scene where Lefty goes psycho while trying out the chainsaw on a log of wood.

Lefty contacts Stretch to get her to play the murder tape live on the radio. He manages to convince her to do it. But when Drayton Sawyer hears this on the radio, hell will come to her.

Later at night after the murder tape is played on the live radio, she gets a visit from Leatherface and his brother Chop Top (Bill Moseley). They are out too kill her for playing the murder tape on the radio. There is a good scene where Chop Top bashes L.G.'s head in with a hammer. Stretch manages to escape from Chop Top and Leatherface.

She follows the car of Chop Top and Leatherface, and it leads her right back to their humble home of meathooks, flesh, bones, and other nice things. But when she see Lefty coming, she falls into a trap. She tries to hide away from the Sawyer family. She gets too see her friend L.G. gets skinned alive by Leatherface, and Leatherface sees her hiding. But he do not kill her, because he has kind of a crush on her. Lefty walks into the Sawyers place to get his revenge.

I remember being really excited finding this DVD movie. It is more of a Slasher/ Comedy than a Slasher/ Horror like the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is also more of a stupid movie.

I do not like this movie as much as I like the first one, but still it is a good movie.

It has more graphic violence and gore than the first movie, and it is a little more bizarre.

But Leatherface falling in love with Stretch is kind of stupid.

I like the character Chop Top played by Bill Moseley. Bill is really good at playing psycho people, and he does a good job making Chop Top as crazy as possible.

There are some really good gore scenes like the split head of Buzz, the hammer head bashing of L.G. and the skinning of L.G.

If you are a horror fan, this movie is sure worth watching. Dennis Hooper is also a really good actor, and has played many crazy people in movies. He is the best actor for the role as Lefty.

and Also "Haunted Head" by Concrete Blonde.

This movie gets the score 6 out of 10 from me.
