Såsom I en spegel or Through "Through a Glass Darkly" which is the English title is a Swedish drama movie written and directed by Ingmar Bergman, it is the first installment in a trilogy about faith. The two following movies are called "Nattvardsgästerna" (Winter Light) from 1963, and "Tystnaden" (The Silence) 1963.
The story follows a young woman Karin (Harriet Andersson) who suffers from Schizophrenia. She is just released from the mental hospital, and is spending time on a remote island with her family. Her father David (Gunnar Björnstrand), her husband Martin (Max von Sydow), and her brother Minus (Lars Passgård). Things seems to be going well, but soon Karin will relapse back to her mental illness, and starts having delusions about meeting God.
Ingmar Bergman is a really talented film maker. But his movies might be the most depressing movies one can watch. The movie is really deep, and has very depressing tones. But the movie sure is beautifully made, and there is a really nice atmosphere over Ingmar Bergman´s movies. But it will make you wanna kill yourself.
I give the movie a 6 out of 10.
