The Man with the golden arm is an American drama movie with elements of film noir. It is based on Nelson Algren´s novel by the same name. The movie is directed by Otto Preminger, and is starring Frank Sinatra.
Frankie Machine (Frank Sinatra) a drug addicted criminal is released from prison, while in prison he managed to get clean from Heroin. He is released with a set of drums, and hopes of starting a new life. But as he moves back to his old run-down neighborhood on the North Side of Chicago, it does not take long time before he is tempted to get himself hooked up with some scag again.
It was a pretty entertaining movie. I really like these old 40s, 50, and 60s movies. The atmosphere is so cool, and the over dramatization. I was surprised that Frank Sinatra was actually a pretty good actor, I know he acts in allot of movies, but this is the first one I have seen.
5 out of 10.
