Villmark (2003)

"Villmark" AKA: "Dark Woods" is a Norwegian horror/thriller movie directed by Pål Øie, and co-written by Pål Øie and Christopher Grøndahl. It stars actors such as Kristoffer Joner, Bjørn Floberg and Sampda Sharma (AKA: Samsaya).

Gunnar (Bjørn Floberg) is hiring a TV crew for a reality TV show called "Real TV". Gunnar is making a reality TV show where participants will try to survive in the woods. As he select four people for a film crew: Lasse (Kristoffer Joner), Per (Marko Iversen Kanic), Sara (Sampda Sharma), and the Swedish woman he has been working with for fifteen years Elin (Eva Röse). He brings them all out to his cabin way out in the wilderness, where he used to spend his summers as a kid. In the wilderness his new TV crew will show that they are fit for the work, by surviving there, finding food by fishing and hunting. As soon as they arrive at the cabin things starts to become weird. Gunnar starts acting stranger and stranger, and they find a dead woman in a near by lake.

I saw this movie first time when it came out in 2003, I was thirteen years old, and this movie scared the living shit out of me. I have always liked this movie, it is so cool how they film it all in the deep woods of Norway (My home country). I have been out in the woods allot, and I really know how the creepy atmosphere can be there at night. They really managed to make this a creepy movie, and also kind of bizarre as Gunnar starts acting like a lunatic. It actually took me a while to understand the ending of the movie. Might be because I was young the first times I saw it. But the movie is surly chilling, and the ending is as well. I might have allot of love to this movie because it is a Norwegian movie, but I really love it, and I sure recommend it if you have not seen it. This is truly one of the best Norwegian horror movie ever made.
